From the 1st of January 2023, a new regulation was also put in place to ensure that sofa and upholstered furniture that may contain Persistent Organic Pollutants Regulations (POPs) cannot be disposed of with your general waste or in your skip hire. The new regulations mean that upholstered domestic seating containing POPs cannot be disposed of in a landfill and must be incinerated.
