Trash Talk

It’s time to talk trash… but at Blackpole Recycling, we don't just handle waste – we manage it!

What Can You Put In Our Skip Hire?

From the moment your waste enters our skips to its final destination, we're committed to responsible waste management. So let's dive into the world of skip hire and waste management.

About Blackpole Recycling

Firstly, who are we? Established in 2001, Blackpole Recycling is a family-run business located in Worcester, serving customers within a twenty-mile radius. Our Waste Transfer Site is strategically positioned on the outskirts of Worcester, facilitating easy access via major road networks. We pride ourselves on our recycling activities, offering a range of recycled products including crushed aggregate.

Worcester Recycling

Worcester City Council states that “Currently about 34% of household waste in Worcester is recycled. Although this has been increasing it is still behind the national average of 44%.”

We want to help change that with our Worcester skip hire! We are proudly able to hire a skip in numerous locations, including Worcester, Bewdley, Bromsgrove, Cleobury Mortimer, Droitwich, Evesham, Hagley, Kidderminster, Malvern, and Stourport

What Can You Put in Our Skips?

Our services are designed to simplify household and trade waste disposal. Whether it's domestic or commercial waste, you can dispose of various items in our skips, including:

Appliances: Washing machines, ovens, and other household appliances that have reached the end of their lifespan. But Fridges and Freezers are not to be disposed of in the skip.

Electrical Items: TVs, computers, laptops, toasters, kettles, and microwaves and other electrical items with plugs and batteries.

Non-hazardous building materials: including old tools, flooring, glass, plasterboard, metal and wood.

Garden waste: like branches, grass clippings, and soil.

General household items: like clothing, toys, and kitchenware.

Furniture: such as chairs, sofas, cabinets and other worn-out unwanted furniture. However if your sofas or upholstered items have fire retardant materials or foam fillings, these can not be put in the skip but we can still help you to dispose of them separately.

We're here to assist you with any questions you have about what you can and can’t put in a skip.

Waste Recycling

At Blackpole Recycling, we pride ourselves on being experts in waste recycling. Currently, we recycle an impressive 98% of all the waste we receive, but our goal is to push that figure to a perfect 100%.

Upon arrival at our depot, the waste undergoes a meticulous sorting process:

Skips Arrive: Skips are brought to our site, weighed and tipped, allowing their contents to be emptied and sorted.

Sorting: Our dedicated team sorts through the waste, manually or mechanically, separating bulk items and categorising each material for accurate recycling.

Recycling Different Materials: Each material follows its unique recycling path:

  • Recycled aggregate, including stone, hardcore, soil, and rubble, is combined for use in building projects.

  • Wood is shredded at our wood bay before being sent to the power station for waste-to-energy conversion.

  • Paper and cardboard are shredded by partnering companies for recycling.

  • Metals are sent to specialised companies for recycling and reuse.

  • Smaller items undergo further sorting in our trommel machine, which utilises a magnet to extract any remaining metal.

  • General waste that remains is designated for incineration for Waste to Energy.
